Brancott.

Despite sleeping in, I made it to Body Combat this morning with about 10 seconds to spare (no need for the warm up)! Fidgeted at work for the first hour until M called to say he’d spoken to the cleaners about the police report we filed yesterday. They were professional, stressed that they were fully insured and also said that our cleaners (we have the same two each week) had been working for the company for four years; however, not once did she ask M if he was sure the money had been stolen. He got the impression she had dealt with this kind of complaint before (although probably not from either of our two ladies).

I would just really hate for anyone to think that M and I are just an over-paid, oil-and-gas-industry young couple who hire cleaners and then blame them when they lose a bit of cash (when I say a bit, we are not talking insignificant, though). I am aware that even if the ladies who work for us are deemed not guilty by their employers, they could lose their jobs. We are completely, 100% sure that they are to blame, and we would never have accused them if we were not.

The police came tonight and took statements from us; they had a look at the bedroom and wardrobe where the cash was taken from, and took the box that it had been kept in for fingerprinting. The two ladies that came were just lovely; one about my age and one a bit older - very understanding and sympathetic. That’s all I’m going to say on it now; let’s just hope that the police can sort it all out and we get the cash back. If any updates occur I’ll probably mention it then.

Nothing else really interesting happened today. Just a TGI Friday day :o) It’s M’s birthday tomorrow and I am ridiculously excited to give him his presents! After the police left, we opened a bottle of wine and fell asleep in front of the TV, only waking up later to watch a film (The Shipping News - very good).
