A different angle

Made a last minute decision to go out with D at the start of his week for a sleepover. Excellent idea, it turned out to be. Was able to go for a proper daunder up the west end of the island (impossible in gull nesting season). Saw a bit of old stonework that was new to me - some remnant of the preparations they made for the possible Napoleonic invasion. Thought this view of the abbey made a nice change from the usual picture postcard one.

The extra is of Vikki checking up on a guillemot chick that had beached itself in the north bay. It didn't seem injured, but wasn't interested in being put back in the water to go look for its parent who should have been around feeding it. V tried, but it beached itself again, and then hid under the wooden jetty. Hope the parent turns up. 

Quiet night in the cottage - although we were able to hear a distant rumbling and thumping which we identified as the AC-DC concert across the water!
