Up the Boro
I'll make this quick as it's been a long day. Doug's funeral went as well as these things ever do; a non-religious ceremony with some lovely words and music. People adjourned afterwards to Acklam Hall, now a very nice hotel but appropriate as it used to be the Grammar school that Doug attended. I couldn't stay long as I had to catch my train; one of the lads gave me a lift to the station where I took this shot. The station extends over a bridge across the adjacent road and this is a shot of the bridge on the platform itself, with some adventurous paintwork.
Two and a half hours on the train to Peterborough and then an excellent drive for the 130 miles to Marlborough where we arrived at just after 8.30. A quick drink and a bite to eat and I think we'll both be asleep very soon.
