Hope

This incredibly decrepit house is about two miles from where I live. Every time I drive past it, I am amazed that it is still standing. The eaves are black with mold and rot, the siding is barely hanging on, the bushes and trees surrounding the place are all overgrown and looming, most of the paint has worn off, and the roof has visible holes.

Even so ... these bright geraniums crowd the front window all year round. They appear to be giving hope that there's still a spark of life in the old place yet.
