It is 25.8.25, and I beat all my date buddies and not even first thing :)))

So, it's a Bank Holiday and I would love to have had the day off, but I need Wednesday and Thursday off, so I set up my desk first thing and logged in. All fine there, and it was good to get back in the saddle after what feels like an age. (My last work day was Thursday!)

We haven't been out in the car, but we did hook it up to the mains in G's bedroom, as that is closest to the carport. It took several hours to get a 10% charge. I had noted over the weekend that the shower hose in the small bathroom is leaking, so we nipped out to B&Q after I finished work. I'm so glad they are open until 8 PM, even on a Bank Holiday.

On the way back, we stopped at Newland's Corner as the light was spectacular. Unfortunately, I only had my small camera, so I did my best to capture the light. We got invited to join Ed for drinks on his deck when we pulled up at the Lodge. It was great to go over, and this time, we created the WhatsApp group that we talked about weeks ago. (My extra is the collage I put together, hoping it would work as the avatar.) We didn't stay too long, though, as there is food in the freezer which needs to be eaten up. I have to say, it is the first time I can think of that I have got to do fun stuff with neighbours. Dubai is great for its diversity, but it also means you don't have much in common with people around you, so you end up just greeting each other when you see them in the common areas.
