Nor'west Arch

The nor'west arch is the iconic cloud form of Canterbury.

The mountains are the south end of the Craigieburn Range, which mostly stands behind the Torlesse Range. The slope on the right is the tail end of the Torlesse Range. Being deeper into the alps the Craigieburns often have snow when the other mountains are bare.

I expected cold, wet weather today, because of a front coming from the south, but it sidled past at an odd angle and brought more nor'west winds. Another dry, mild day.
