Wood Stork...

I spent a few minutes this morning at the Home Depot Retention Pond, here in Gainesville. Since we've had a bit of rain lately the pond is full enough to attract a wide variety of wading birds. This morning it looked like a 'Bird Party'!  Making their appearances...Ibis, Great Egrets, Little Blue Herons, Great Herons, and Black-bellied Whistling Ducks. And as if that wasn't enough...I saw at least a dozen of my very favorite *Wood Storks*! I was far enough away from them that I wasn't able to photograph closeups of their amazingly prehistoric-looking faces! Do take a look at the *extras. I'll need to visit the pond soon again but with a much longer lens on board. m
