Wound up in Wexford

A lot of rain this morning.  And even when that eased it continued very blustery.  I brought the willow fish inside as I though it might fly away.

I did a session on the static bike, and then some sewing.  W has spent the day in the kitchen - blondies and flapjack, and chapatis to go with our curry for dinner.

We seem to have 4 different varieties.  The really tall ones were the first to flower, and are past it now - I'll dead head them next time I'm doing some gardening.  Then there are three clumps of another shorter variety (probably grown by splitting a single pot) which were also starting to flower (bottom left) here, have also been very generous, but are starting to go over now.  And the little yellow ones, which have only managed three flowers this year.

And then over the last few weeks, yet another variety has thrown up multiple flower spikes - in the centre on today's photo.

The agapanthus in the same bed (we've called it the gate bed) are gradually picking up.  Many of them were grown from bare roots, and although they produce leaves, they are not yet managing to flower.  Maybe next year?
