Fortress of Fortezza

We are adjusting to the heat now and after a visit to the bakers for bread and a relatively early breakfast we headed through the backstreets to the Fortress of Fortezza.

There were some magnificent views from the fort and various remnants of buildings from both the Venetian and Turkish occupations.

After a well needed coffee we walked back to our apartment through the old town. Interestingly some of the street walls, doors and cafe buildings have various messages in support of the Palestinian people.

After lunch and a rest from the sun we decided to go for a swim in the sea. It was lovely.

Now we are all showered and ready to go out for an evening meal. The joys of being on holiday.
