Clough Head, and various Dodds from Latrigg
A wonderful afternoon between showers in the morning and showers in the evening.
As our morning was occupied with various things we packed a lunch and drove over to Keswick for a coffee at Java before setting off up the steep side of Latrigg. We stopped for lunch in the lee of a wall admiring the view of Blencathra, Blease Fell, the Helvellyn range, Great and Little Mell Fells, High Rigg, the Greta Valley and many other iconic views.
It really is a fine walk up a low fell with commanding views all round. Skiddaw looked spectacular too and we could see a trail of ants moving up and down the long slog that is the tourist path.
Not many people on Latrigg, I thought there would be more. They were all down in Keswick. We stopped for an ice cream at the point where we joined the rail trail and then it was all down hill, following the River Greta back to Keswick.
