Training Ship

The Peruvian navy were visiting Liverpool today. BAP Unión, the first training ship of the Peruvian navy and the largest sailing ship in Latin America, was anchored very close to Pierhead, and the public were allowed on board. So I and neighbour R visited. The ship carries 250 crew, officers and trainees. I have never seen so many Peruvians.

It was impossible to photograph the ship satisfactorily - an extra is the nearest I could get.

Excellent Catalonian tapas lunch in Lunya, and then a return to Lime Street Station. I was appalled at the mess outside the magnificent St George’s Hall as we passed. But close inspection of the side of the dumpster shows that all is not as it seems ! (Extra).
