Pentatoma
Forest bug / red-legged shieldbug (Pentatoma rufipes). With a name like that you feel it ought to have five .. toes, or something.
I'm hunting a tiny leak in the huge water butt. It only manifests itself as a slow growing puddle around the base so it's not exactly obvious. The only thing I could see that was potentially suspicious was the seam joining the two halves so I added lots of sealant there.
Water butt bottoms are not overly photogenic but this fellow arrived so we have ... a bug butt on a butt butt.
Or something.
