It's been a very
long and arduous day in
transit for we two

The airport shuttle collected us in our driveway at 4 AM to whisk us off for our 5:55 AM flight to Halifax, Nova Scotia. We took it in two laps - our first lap got us to Calgary just about an hour in duration. We had about an hour to get ourselves all the way through the airport to catch the second flight to Halifax.
Calgary was looking rather grim immersed in forest fire smoke. The sun hung red in the morning sky. They landscape was grey as though in fog.
I have rented a wheelchair for this trip to save some foot work. My amazing daughter had the idea that she could push me through the worst of this adventure. It is an interesting experiment for both of us. We've had a few laughs today.
We arrived in Halifax about 5:30 PM local time. We sorted the rental car and made a made dash out of the airport heading north. It was a treat to see a Nova Scotia license plate again and the rental car is a racy black Chrysler.
It was dark by the time we made it to Amherst but the fading sun made a lovely show. Forest fires are a huge concern in this province right now. No doubt the rosy colour at sunset has come from this.
We're very happy to tuck in to our motel room for the night. Tomorrow we expect to visit a friend formerly from Kamloops.
