Red bellied woodpecker
Wednesday
Though it was another beautiful sunny day, we had both decided to stay home and get some jobs done. R was working in the garden and then cleaning the interior of the Acura, since we will be taking that one up to Wisconsin next week for the wedding, and it can seat seven if we need to ferry people around. I was doing some jobs inside, as well as knitting and Duolingo - I somehow managed to miss yesterday, but was saved by a streak freeze! I’m up to 1297 days now - I’d hate to lose that streak!
I spent sometime outside this afternoon watching the birds at the feeders and trying to photograph them. The large striking pileated woodpecker had been around earlier, but he didn’t oblige for me with my camera, so I had to make do with our most common woodpecker the red bellied. Yes I know his read head is more prominent, but he does have a pinkish tinge to his front, and there is another woodpecker called a red-headed woodpecker!
