A late decision to head into Manchester on the train at the end of the afternoon for “The Angel in the Marble”, an early evening concert at The Whitworth featuring Manchester Camerata. The same concert will be given at The Hepworth in Wakefield tomorrow, and then at Kings Place in London.

I walked from Oxford Road station down to The Whitworth and passed this mural on the way. It was this or one of the extraordinary artworks of Santiago Yuhuarcani, a Peruvian (I am inadvertently having a Peruvian week ) and member of the Aimeni clan of the indigenous Uitoto Nation - I had time to look at the major exhibition of his work (example of part of one in extras) before the concert (and after tea and cake).
