Red Admiral on Calendula

Working in the garden today I was joined by this red admiral. If you are able to enlarge the image you can see its tongue curling out. The calendula I grew from seed. I like this pale colour better than the bright orange. They've done well. They're easy to grow of course.

I'm busy repotting my houseplants. I usually leave them outside till October but I have an urge to tidy the garden this year. It looks bedraggled and there is such a lot of clearing up to do. That's one job I can tick off the list today.

I've a busy day of prep for a journey tomorrow - off again. I can't keep up with myself. Tonight we're going to see/listen to the Orkney musicians Saltfishforty. We've heard them before and they have a lot of energy!

Wishing you a good weekend. My three adult children and three grandchildren are away for their annual siblings/cousins weekend near Aberfeldy. I hope they have a ball.
