I'm Back!
Apologies - I am back-blipping. In all the excitement of being back here and having time with family, the time got away from me. Not only have I not blipped, I have not done my Duolingo for three days! Yikes!
So.. very much in the past tense....here goes...
My daughter and son-in-law were here to welcome me, and help me get settled, but they were here only for another day before they had to go back home for a while.
The trip up for me was, as always, exhausting, but worth it. The weather, although very autumn-like, was still warm enough - if you were in the sun - to go for a swim and lounge for a while on the dock. The forecast pointed out though, that this might be the last swim for a few days...and it turned out to be right! The cold, blustery winds and rain showed up that evening...
My daughter and SIL spent the afternoon dealing with the down-sides of cottage living - an ant infestation in the guest cabin and a dead animal somewhere within the dryer or its vent. By the end of the day, they had both issues under control..(the dead animal was a mouse). What would I do without those two to take care of such things?
My brother Ted came over from his cottage on his jet ski to have dinner with us. By the time we had finished eating, the forecast storm was brewing...big dark clouds and gusting winds telling us to get my brother out of here and safely home before it hit. But alas, his jet ski wouldn't start! The clouds were getting more ominous...and offers were made for him to stay over, but with the three of them trying to solve the problem, they at last got it going and off he went. He arrived home safely, but cold and wet!
And so went the first day...no blipping and no Duo Lingo...and an early-to-bed evening!
