The day to start is today

By Traci

At Blenheim I took two very important decisions:

to be born and to marry. I am happily content with the decisions I took on both occasions.
Sir Winston Churchill

Stunning Palace, stunning day.

Home to the 11th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough, Blenheim Palace is the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and a World Heritage Site.
Blenheim Palace was a gift from Queen Anne and a grateful nation to John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough following his famous victory at the Battle of Blenheim in 1704.

The Churchill Exhibition includes the room where Sir Winston Churchill was born 1874. Very interesting to find out more about his art work too.

Blenheim Palace is surrounded by over 2,000 acres of 'Capability' Brown landscaped parkland, the great lake, and beautiful formal gardens.

I felt like we had covered the majority of the acres by the end of the day, so thankfully time for a swim to ease those achy bones before another assault on the feet tomorrow.
