A Shared Parish Church

What a good idea! St. Stephen's parish church, in Kirkby Stephen, is shared by Anglicans and Roman Catholics, each having their own services here. There have been churches on this site since Anglo-Saxon times and the present church was built in 1240.

It sits so nicely in the village behind the cloisters in Market Square. I was surprised to get this view of it us we walked up the street.

I feel as if I'm on holiday again today with a look around this village and a lunch out. We had come to choose a few things for our holiday lodge from a firm here, mainly sets of refillable hand wash & lotion dispensers and smart new waste-paper bins.
