In need of support
and a business plan this light
guides our mariners.

Charlottetown harbour, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada

In 2008, the government of Canada declared 37 lighthouses in this province "surplus". Local governments and community groups were invited to submit a business plan if they were interested in operating these surplus lighthouses. The deadline to submit plans was June 1, 2013. This, the Warren Cove Back Range Lighthouse, is one of 4 that does not yet have a petition for its continuation. It is one of the second generation of lighthouses in PEI, having been built in 1907 on the Warren Farm from wood at a height of 30 feet and sitting 57 feet above the high water mark. It is located on the west side of the entrance to Charlottetown harbour.
