Steady As She Goes.....

Boats were arriving today in preparation for the Burnley Canal Festival due to take place over the week-end.
If this boat had in fact come from Battyeford (nr. Mirfield) then it was a long trip.
By road Battyeford to Burnley is just over 30 miles, but there isn't a direct canal route. The journey would have been around the Outer Pennine Ring and is 83 miles and consists of 73 locks and one long tunnel. At least a full week's journey.
When viewed large the enormous pair of scissors on the bench intrigued me.
