The Edge of the Wold

There could be only one blip today, as this is a big moment in our life with Gus. He is smiling because he has learned to chase and bring back frisbees. When he arrived nine months ago, a former working sheepdog, he didn't know how to play with toys. Three weeks ago, at Wifie's birthday do in BW, he learned how to pick up a ball.

Sue gave me the frisbee today. We had been down to the river with Rowan, and took the grapnel to retrieve the frisbee we lost in deep water a couple of weeks ago. When it came out, Rowan decided he preferred it to the replacement that Sue had bought, so she donated the new one to Gus.

Wifie and I took him to Jack Scout this evening to do some more brambling, and we weren't sure whether he would take to a frisbee as he had shown no interest the last time we had tried. But on the second throw, he picked it up and returned it. And then he wouldn't stop.

We have a few pounds of blackberries, Gus has learned a new game, and we celebrated with Arnside fish and chips. A great start to the weekend. And although the man flu sounds awful with my hacking cough and snivelling, I do feel a bit better today.
