Magnolia Flower (I Think)

Everytime I head into town I pass this tree on the side of the road. I've always wondered what it was. So today I stopped. I think it's a type of Magnolia, but not quite sure. If anyone can let me know I'd appreciate it.

Square september is still going - only 12 days of it. I've really enjoyed it, certainly makes you think about composition in a different way, and that's all good!
