All good GIFTS around us......

This is the chorus of the famous Harvest hymn that begins, We plough the fields and scatter the good seed on the land.....

Had something completely different in mind for today, but when we got to Boscombe Salvation Army, I changed my mind! Didn't think I would be able to stick to HeartFreek's September Challenge, but then realised that A GIFT or GIFTS on this special Harvest Sunday would be appropriate.

There were lots of people visiting from other Corps, many of them originally from Zimbabwe and we were treated to some wonderful songs and saw and heard their expertise with the timbrels. As usual the Band was magnificent as were the Songsters.

The collage shows Kimberley, standing in front of the basket of fruit in the foyer of the church; the wonderful banners put up by two men from the church - and what a colourful remembrance they are of God's promise in the form of a rainbow, the open Bible, which is central to our worship and the wonderful array of harvest fruits and vegetables. We are truly blessed by a God who daily showers us with GIFTS.

God has provided us with:
* His word to tell us how to live,
* His promise that He will never again flood the whole earth, and
* Food that sustains us daily,
but the harvest of souls is the responsibility
He has given to those of us who believe.
