Get your kicks ....

.... on Route 66

Also backblipped this (in case you thought I'd missed a day!)

Drove 5-hours today from Grand Canyon, through to Las Vegas. We decided against shooting the sunrise at the Grand Canyon (after two excellent days of sunset shoots) in order to allow us time to stop en route at the towns of Williams and Seligman - the latter looking just like the set from Pixar's "Cars" - often complete with the eyes in the windscreens.

Loved both towns and could produce a book from the pictures taken just from today! So much iconic Americana. Lunched at the mega-cool Sno-Cap cafe - Chilli burger, fries and a coke, but loved the owners, such a sense of humour and fun. (When one of my guests asked for a small root beer, she got a "shot" of Root beer :))

Ended up the day in Vegas - even more brash, tacky and distasteful than I'd feared, but in some ways that's part of the attraction - photographed well into the night, didn't lose my camera (or shirt) in a casino, and managed 3-hours sleep before starting the long trek home.
