Airport Blues

Air travel is a rather tedious process, we progress form one queue to another, check in, security, passport control, boarding. One of the disadvantages of living in a relatively remote location is that it all has to be done twice, first in Milan and then at Amsterdam.

The photo is taken at a fairly early stage in the process, at Milan's Linate airport. It looks like the guy in the foreground is only going as far as Amsterdam as that is the title of the guide book he is reading. It is fairly early, so not many people have arrived at the gate yet.

Both flights were full. Our departure from Lenno took place under cloudy skies. The drive to Linate was uneventful with only a moderate amount of traffic on the Tangenziale. We left Lenno at 09:15 and arrived at out destination in the late afternoon. A full day of travel. I fell asleep shortly after getting in to the apartment in Aberdeen, so the posting today is a day late.
