The CROP Walk is a charitable walking event to fight hunger. The website states, CROP Hunger Walks are interfaith hunger education and fundraising events sponsored by Church World Service and organized by CWS local offices across the U.S. In our community the walk is usually held early in October and, if we are lucky, it doesn't pour rain. Today the rain threatened, but never started until after supper, so the walk went off as planned. Actually, rain or shine, the walk takes place, and I've walked in downpours and on bright sunny days. Whatever the weather, the mood is always upbeat because it feels good to be doing something to alleviate the many problems caused by hunger. I only took a few pictures today and didn't get one that I thought captured the spirit of the walk, but I couldn't resist posting the picture of this woebegone puppy. I'm not so sure she was a willing walker, but she definitely is a beautiful dog.
