Solace Day 13: Fungi

Our adventures on Solace for 2013 are coming to an end!

A few of highlights today were trying to photograph a wren in the hedge in the gloom of early morning, (one of the shots turned out to be a robin, well it was still quite dark) feeding crusts to swans and having a toad passed to me.

I assumed one of these would be my blip.

At the end of our last day actually on the canal we moored on the edge of the Shugborough Estate, the other side of the canal is National Trust property, too. As we moored early in the day it seemed like a good opportunity to take Ash for a nice woodland walk such as he hasn't really had for 2 weeks.

Fallen trees lay everywhere and on them grew a wide variety of fungi. Although we have had gloriously warm days, it made me realise that it is, in fact, autumn.
