A Grand Day Out!

Last day of summer? I know it is well past the last day of summer but that is what it felt like today. Glorious, warm sunshine and blue skies and a day at the seaside.
What could be better? Especially knowing that the weather is about to turn!

We arranged to meet my sister in law and her partner at Runswick Bay in time for coffee this morning, overlooking the sparkling sea. It was arranged a while ago and we couldn't have planned better weather. Amazingly neither of them had ever visited here before and were delighted with it.

We took to the beach and in the middle distance here you can see the men hunting for fossils which are not uncommon here on the East Yorkshire coast. We had a lovely walk and then climbed into the village to the Royal Hotel for lunch.

A wander around the lovely village finished off the day, where we saw masses of butterflies making the last of the sun and we spotted lots of them on this bush just above the sea wall.

A truly grand day out.
