Don't You Just Love Spring?

Spring greens, hawthorn flowers, and snow. No sign of the mountains yet.

There was slushy snow on the ground this morning, but rain, hail and sleet soon melted it. My daffodils, irises and bluebells have been flattened, but the lettuces came through very well.

Waxeyes and sparrows are patronising the feeders in greater numbers, and making short work of the fat, bread and honey water. My cat, who didn't grow a proper winter coat because of the mild winter, is feeling the cold. When she goes outside she gives a little shake and her fine fur stands stands up all fluffy.

I went out in the freezing cold to buy timber for new edgings in the greenhouse. Hope to get them in tomorrow, because my son is getting the compost on Friday.
