Textile Installation

Salts Mill was a good choice by Andrew for today's visit as it's been absolutely foul weather. I haven't been there for a long, long time so it was good to return and especially good to find the `Cloth and memory' exhibition is still on. This piece is by Yoriko Yoneyama from Japan and comprises a suspended web of dried rice threaded on fine cotton interspersed with mirrors. It's not the easiest place for us to get to and our cross-country trip took us two hours this morning, mainly because of an accident on the outskirts of Huddersfield. We came back vis the motorway - longer but quicker!

We spent quite a bit of time looking at the Hockney exhibits too. Some of them have been in the gallery a long time but there were ones that were new to me too.
