Novel Tree

Early start today so we can sort out the packing. Met J&A for breakfast and then checked out of the room. Surprisingly easy to check out and get the 7 bags downstairs.

Went up to Mandalay Bay casino to see the shark tanks. Great fun. Next stop was a cab ride down to Bellagio for a photo of the talking tree. They have a theme in the hotel at the moment for fall autumn. This talking tree seems to be one of the fighting trees from the NOVEL Wizard of Oz. Nice to see and amazing how much effort they put into making the displays NOVEL in each of the casinos.

From there it was over to Casers Place for a piece of cheesecake. J&A stopped off for an ice cream while we sorted out lunch via the internet in the Apple store.

Seems the all the steak places that are any good are only open for dinner. Settled for lunch at the cheesecake shop and then a quick stop off at the Apple store to get a cover for J's Mac Book.

Got a taxi back to New York New York. While J & Alison had a look in the shops I lost a few dollars on the one arm bandits.

Back to the MGM for a drink and we discovered we had got the wrong cover for the Mac Book. So it was a fog march for the 1.5 miles back the Apple store to change it. Managed to get back to the MGM with 15 minutes spare before we had to leave for the airport.

Got J&A’s cases and ours in one cab and headed to the airport. Good new is there is curb side check in so no need to hump the bag inside. After a bit of swapping of stuff to get the weight right in each bag they were checked in to Edinburgh and it is off to the lounge for a drink.

Not looking forward to the 9.5 hour flight but hope to slept most of the way with the help of some sleeping pills.

Great holiday. Not looking forward to having to do all the ironing once J has done the washing and going back to work on Monday.
