Stone Fish

Woke up after a not too bad nights sleep despite that fact we were on the move all night.
Had three good dives today, see write ups below.
Also had lots of boobies siting on the rigging and bow of the boat. Being very childish you always have to take pictures of boobies when you can.
Also had some dolphins playing and spinning off the back of the boat while we were moving between dive sites.
Tonight is Rib eye steak cooked on the top deck.
Stomach seems to have sorted its self out. A major point in the holiday so far for me.
Looking forward to some red meat and beer tonight before settling in for the night.
Managed to have a go with John’s camera for a couple of dives. Need a bit more practice with the flash unit so as not to burn out the photos.

Dive 6
Ildefonso – North East
Start time 8.04
Max depth 30.2m
Dive time 63 min
Temp 27

Early morning dive again this time on an unknown site.
Dropped in to see clear viz and lots of large boulders. Dive started in a bay area with sear rock faces creating a bowl. Had a swim around and saw the usual fish but also a large lobster with a green moray as company under the same rock.
Tried to take photos of some harlequin fish and hawk fish as well. Lots of sea fans but no sea horses on them.
Swam through a very nice gully that ended in a great archway.
Saw a few porcupine fish as well but they weren't interested in having their photo taken.
Towards the end of the dive tried taking some photos of a blenny. Not sure if they came out or not.
Nice dive to start the day with.

Dive 7
Il Defonso - Sea Mount
Start time 12.21
Max depth 27.1m
Dive time 60 min
Temp 29

Another new dive site, this time a seamount. Nice to drop down to the top of it in the clear blue sea. Arrived at the top at about 10m.
Had a great swim all around. One side was just a shear wall that went down to around 40m. Very nice soft and hard coral. Lots of reef fish around.
Didn't manage to find and sea horses or octopus on the wall.
Came around the back of the mount to a well protected area and sandy bottom. Saw some porcupine fish and nice small jewel morays on the top of the mount.
Had fun playing with John’s camera again. Not to sure I have got the hang of the flash yet. Seems to be blowing the photo out.
Spent the last part of the dive trying to take photos of blennies and hawk fish.
Very nice dive.

Dive 8
Punta Pulpito
Start time 16.26
Max depth 19.2m
Dive time 56 min
Temp 30

Last dive of the day and another exploratory dive. It was meant to be a wall dive but the wall never appeared.
Lots of boulders to swim around. On top of the boulders were lots of little cracks that held all the life.
Porcupine fish were starting to find a hole for the night and settle down. Saw a very small octopus that disappeared into a 4mm crack before I could get a photo of it.
Lots of the normal tropical fish as well.
Stonefish were sitting out on the rocks.
Nice gentle dive to finish the day.
