Swamped

13.3C with grey cloud most of the day. Zephyr.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk after lunch. It wasn't as dull as yesterday but there was no blue sky.

Down at the beach the tide was almost right up to the dunes. We managed to walk along the beach, dodging waves rushing right into the small dune line in places.

As we walked along to the Fishermen's huts we could see 'Valhalla VI' close in to the shore parallel to the line of the surf. It soon became clear that Valhalla was on its trailer and the red tractor was there too. No sign of the owner.

Looks very much like the tractor has failed to get Valhalla up off the beach. Not for the first time recently corrugated iron sheets were at the back of the beach, having been used under the wheels to try to provide grip. Worse still the waves were breaking right over both the boat and the tractor. The tractor was completely swamped.
