Night of Neon

Jude, Alex and I walked 10k around Media City for the Night of Neon Walk tonight. When we arrived we picked up our bright orange t shirts and then adorned ourselves with glow sticks. As we joined in with the warm up exercises the heavens opened and the wind blew, in fact the rain was coming down sideways. We kicked off at 20:30 and wound our way round the course. The rain eased off and the atmosphere was great. We did two laps of a course that snaked around the docks, past the War Museum and behind Old Trafford. We took two hours and ten minutes to complete the walk.

There were about 1000 walkers and the money raised is for The Christie Hospital. We felt fantastic as people cheered us over the finishing line and we didn't care that we were wet and cold. We put our medals on and glowed as brightly as our neon tops.

I'm warm and snug in bed now with a hot cuppa, my legs are throbbing but I feel great!
