An Evening Peninsula Double Rainbow

After the heavens opened this evening, the clouds broke over Lake Ellesmere, enabling sunlight to flood the southwest flanks of Banks Peninsula.

Instead of turning off the Akaroa Highway towards home, I carried on a little, Mrs H and I marvelling at the stunning light and I also hoping for the daily blip to reveal itself at stony point.

After taking some shots of black swans silhouetted by the low sun, the rain briefly returned, allowing this beautiful rainbow (with its faint twin) to reveal itself alongside the the Little River Rail Trail.
