Day 3 - More Horsepower and castles

After breakfast set off southwards, stopping briefly at the Abt Sportsline offices in Kempten. The company Abt is an official Audi works team in the German Sportscar racing championship (DTM). They are primarily a tuning company for all VW group cars but primarily known for their souped up Audi's and connection to Red Bull. Kate's first car was a Beetle and J has an Audi TT so thought it would be fun to see some sports versions in their showrooms. To my dismay they voted the Zimmer Frame with a massive spoiler and infusion stand holding two cans of Red Bull, as the best exhibit. For some reason they insisted I posed for a photo next to it.

Then off to Füssen to the real Disney castle, Neuschwanstein, Germany's most visited tourist site. Fighting with queue barging Chinese and Russian tourists, we eventually got a  bus up the mountain to a small, narrow bridge over a very deep gorge but with a great view of the castle and surrounding countryside. Children are not in the Blip as the narrow bridge didn't allow enough room to get them in the view finder. My camera with a very good wide angle refused to work although I was sure I had charged it!

Then back home to collect Angie as Kate, Barry and J had invited us out for dinner at an Italian restaurant in Ottobeuren. Was very touched when J offered to drive home (we have been using two cars for our travels, J driving the Jeep and either I or Angie the car) after his old man made the mistake of ordering a pint of "pure" beer rather than a shandy!

Another great day despite flat Jeep battery in the morning (must have left interior lights on overnight), flat camera battery, non functioning navigation device, missing motorway exit, almost running out of petrol in the middle of nowhere.
