The Slea Bridge.........

.............this is the new £150,000 Lift Bridge over the river Slea in Sleaford town which has been built in recent years to replace the old fixed bridge and means that boats now have access a stretch of the river previously blocked by the old bridge.
The new bridge is much wider than the old one and caters for prams and wheelchairs but development of the stretch now accessible will take a lot longer and will require a lot more money - so when that will happen is not known at the moment.
In the 18th century, the river was the main trading route between Lincoln and Sleaford and went right into the centre of the town to the Mill, which is still there and is now a cafe but that all changed with the coming of the Railway in 1857.

Another sunny morning - a few light clouds and a temperature of 39 Deg.F but little wind.

Hope the sun is shining where you are.

Thoughts go out to the people of the Philippines who have suffered the worst tornado in living memory - loss of life is low at the moment and we can only hope it stays that way.
