When The Mountains Turn Pink, It's Time To Drink

That's a saying in Green Valley. It refers to "cocktail hour" for the senior crowd in our retirement town.

The pink mountains are a beautiful sight at sunset here. (This is a terrible photo of them.) They are east of us, and of course, the sun sets in the west. The sun in Arizona refracts differently here than in other places which accounts for our spectacular sunrises and sunsets. It also is responsible for the shades of pink that come and go within minutes as the sun lowers past the prime spot for that wonderful refraction of light.

I didn't edit this photo so that you could see what we can, except to the naked eye the mountains are sharper because they aren't focused on the tree. Whatcha gonna do? They all looked good in the camera...
