Nature's Olympics

Maybe the squirrel I saw today was taking part in the 100m sprint.
Perhaps the nuthatch in the gymnastics?
What about the dipper we spotted the other day in the diving?
And possibly this snail in the weightlifting?

Whatever they're up to, I'm sure this was their Olympic torch.

This fiery leaf had landed perfectly atop a hollow fence post.
