Greece at Home

It's sad in the extreme that all I've been talking about here for the past several days seems to be the weather -- good weather on Thursday and Friday, rotten weather over the long weekend, good weather again today. This obsession is almost as bad as the blip one! But, with the inevitability which only goes to reinforce all our worst preconceptions, the unfortunate 9-to-5ers who'd had a long weekend washout went back to the grind today and had to look out at a day which got better and better as it progressed. Blue sky. Bright sunshine. Delicate wispy little clouds. I'm sure they were all comparing notes round the photocopier or outside in their designated smoking areas and bewailing the fact that the sun went on holiday too after doing its shiny thing on Friday.

It's 7.17 pm now, and it still looks pretty good outside. At least I managed to get out into the newly shorn back garden earlier for a little break and revived some memories of wonderful holiday times in the Greek islands, complete with an Irish sky to rival anything in Santorini.
