Cathedral Larches

As I take my leave of Dunkeld, a fitting tribute to this gorgeous sunny November fortnight, are these ancient larches, with the last vestiges of their autumnal mantle of orange needles. Nearer the camera are branches of an oak tree still amazingly green.

Yesterday the Cathedral grounds were alive with wedding guests. Today in the sharp morning sunlight, it was tranquil - not a breath of wind and just a few people taking in the beautiful ambiance of this breathtaking location on the banks of the Tay. The bell ringers were practising also. I return home with wonderful auditory and visual memories to keep me going till I return in the spring.
