A time for everything

Black and gold

Sunday
We were pretty late home last night, after our evening up in Paris, and neither of us were keen on getting up this morning, but we eventually did, and just made it to church in time. We take it for granted being able to go to church and read and study our bible at home, but during his sermon this morning, our locum chaplain reminded us of those around the world who suffer for their faith, to the point of laying down their lives. In North Korea, people have been executed just for owning a bible, and in Syria the fate of two missing orthodox priests is still not known. How much we have to be thankful for in our part of the world!
It was grey and dismal all day today, not a glimpse of sunshine to be seen, but at least it stayed dry, and there was still some color to be found in the forest on our afternoon walk - I liked the contrast in this photo between the dark branches of the tree and both the fallen leaves and the few remaining leaves on the tree. Hope you like it too!
