Mudlark

Mild and sunny, we abandoned things we should have done (painting the kitchen ceiling for example) and went for a wander down to Kitchen Cove. A very low tide, lots of squashy mud and some good clouds. The copper beeches are a glorious colour at the moment too. Can you spot the mudlark blipping something small and fascinating in the mud?
We carried on round to the next bay and around the headland where we watched two large trawlers from Castletownbere sweep through the water, taking everything in their paths. Something a bit depressing about such huge fishing boats in our little bay, there's nowhere for anything to hide.

Leaf sweeping, bog grass hacking and clearing around the blackcurrants were the afternoon chores. Amazing how many flies and bees there are still, mostly enjoying something on the ivy. Very mild but I think the cold weather is on its way.
