Sgwarnog: In the Field

Chimney

I popped over to Halifax to meet up with my eldest sister where she used her local knowledge to guide me through a variety of blip opportunities within the town.

We started with a walk along the the Hebble Trail following Hebble Brook through various aspects of the town's industrial past and present. I suspect the water quality has improved since the then Yorkshire Ouse and Hull River Authority put up this sign in the 1960s.

This seventy five metre tall chimney served Shaw Lodge Mill which is now home to a range of enterprises.

We then explored the Piece Hall, which provided perhaps the only use of the word "rebottomed" in a ghost sign.

After discovering that both of the town's veggie eateries are closed on Mondays, we settled on the Town Hall cafe for lunch. Which still left time for one more ghost sign before the train home.
