Arctic front

The weather forecast has been ominous. For the foreseeable future, the weather will be coming from the Arctic. And it will be cold. It is that time of year.

Weather language is endearing. There is to be a front. I've never heard of sides or top or back, just front. And it will pass down through the country. Up here in the north, we will get it first. We are in front. But, in weather terms, nothing is behind.

And the isobars are close together. And that kind of chumminess is not a good thing.

And if you go to the BBC Weather web site, there is a button you can press for 'More UK Weather'. I wonder what 'more weather' is? I think there is enough just now so I hope nobody presses that button.
