Solitary...

A dazzling day with the first crisp frost of the season, covering the car with a tracery of filigree ice patterns. I now realise I urgently need a new scraper and some more de-icer! It was sufficiently cold for Rosie to wear her coat for the first time since April - she seemed very appreciative :)

We had a good long walk at Ferry Meadows which was looking stunning. The autumn colours are now at their peak: chrome yellow field maples, coppery orange beeches, burgundy dogwoods and the warm ochre of the silver-birch leaves. There were quite a few other walkers out, making the most of the display, but I rather liked the way this solitary man was framed by the out of focus birch leaves, and was seemingly oblivious of the splendour all around him.
