View from floor 32

Changed but unchanged,
Buildings mark the hidden ways,
Many feet have walked.

Oh what an excellent day! Went up to London town to meet KarenC and 55Daisies and Karen's lovely friend Alison and my lovely daughter, Tash.

Once assembled we went up to the Oblix bar on the 32nd floor of the Shard. Such stunning views! With a bit of clever manouevering we managed to get a corner window table ..... and sat there for some time, sipping wine and cocktails and watching the city move from day to night. Absolutely magical.

Karen and Alison headed off, then after a while Sue, tash and I headed of to get something to eat (and more wine) at an Italian place (a little more affordable than the Shard!).

Then I ran for the train and missed it! But eventually got home happy but exhausted.

Needless to say many photo's were taken ... I have posted a selection here

Couldn't decide what to blip, the quality of them isn't brilliant (wrong lens!). I liked this as it shows the old street patterns of this historic part of London. from when this area was mainly docks. You can see what was part of Hays Wharf top right (now Hays Galleria). A bit of London bridge station at the bottom with teeny tiny people on the platform.

London is so changed, but yet many of the medieval street patterns remain and newer buildings have fitted in around them.
