Imperial Shag

The glorious weather continued and we spent the day walking at leisure around Sea Lion Island. However there was a strong northerly gale blowing!
We went to the cliffs at the west end of the island to see the Rockhopper Penguins and the few Imperial Shags that were around this year. Normally the island is teeming with Shags but every few years they don't show up. This was such a year. However, there were a couple around on the cliff edge and I was able to approach a breeding male very close (to within a couple of meters!)
