Smash and grab

It was a busy start to the morning, with a Peregrine Falcon sighted over breakfast outside the kitchen window at the lodge. A trio of photographers went to see and then went outside and got a lot closer. I got some good shots and it could have been the blip....
but then, whilst waiting for the FIGAS Islander to arrive, we went for a look at the Gentoo colony, and managed to witness the Falkland Skuas spot the opportunity of an unguarded egg. They were in in a flash, and here you can see the bird transporting the egg a few meters to enjoy it elsewhere in a bit of peace and quiet. It was joined by another bird for a tasty breakfast.
Despite concerns about fog and visibility the FIGAS Islander did land ontime and we made it back to Stanley for a look around in the afternoon.
